Spring has almost sprung!
It's right around the bend.
The snowy cold and bitter winds
Soon will finally end.
Sprouting buds and bits of color
Awakening from a long winter's sleep.
Drawing warm sun from high above
And food from soft earth deep.
And just as days grow longer
And spring warmth fills the earth,
The birds will build, the earthworms glide
And small hoppers will add their mirth.
Trees standing tall and barren
Will sport new cloaks of merry green.
The sky will be it's azure bright
The prettiest ever seen.
I loved dear Winter's splendor
It's quiet loving ways
But I'm grateful still to see new life
Burst forth from fresh Spring days!
