Our currently featured story centers on the 'inner guidances' we may experience from time to time.
We all seem to have them, it’s true.
But just where do they come from? Ellie Braun Haley seems to
have an answer for them in this new story entitled, ‘VOICES’. She gives thoughtful consideration to the active role of 'Divine Guidance'
in her own life, and the after effects and benefits of 'listening' when she has heeded the prompts that have come to her. I found myself relating to her accounts in so many ways Like the time a terrible snow storm had my nephew and his girlfriend surrounded by nothing but dark night and white sheets of blinding snow, trying to find their way. My own little family was in and protected, but restlessness in trying to sleep brought him to my thoughts. I immediately knew that I should pray for his safety. The next morning when I awakened, there was a phone call from my sister-in-law that 'Jim' was safe, and that at the very time I had been awake praying, he and his friend found their way to her porch light and safety. This was in the midst of not being able to see anything at all, upon a dark country road in the middle of nowhere!
I believe that God does 'prompt' us and that angels are afoot ... and perhaps you will too after reading about one heart’s obedience to them in: Voices

Ivor E. Hogg is from the Uk and, one of our favorite all-time poets! In our current featured poem from Ivor, he expounds on the sometimes shady nature of the time-honored ‘Goose Fair’ celebration that is a true British tradition, with over 700 years of origin behind it. Held originally in conjunction with St. Michaelmas Day (the day of celebrating St. Michael), on September 29th. St. Michael was the patron saint of the seas, ships and sailors as well as horses and horsemen.He is also legend to have thrown Lucifer out of Heaven. Michaelmas Day marked the final day of harvest, which traditionally begins August 1st. Many areas referred to this day as ‘Goose Day’ and quite a few still hold Goose Fairs to this day. It has long bore much tradition, folklore and proberb, such as this one; Three things that never come to any good:
Christmas pigs,
Michaelmas fowls,
and parsons' daughters.
(Traditional English proverb)
and this;
He who eats goose on Michaelmas day
shan't money lack or debts to pay.
You may read more on this time-less tradition here: Nottingham City Goosefair
Thank you, Ivor for this candid view of the fair!
